Chest pain at  night is one of the most common reasons people seek emergency help at a hospital. The majority of these people seeking emergency help are concerned that they may be having a heart  attack. While  extreme chest pain at night  is one of the common symptoms of a heart attack, there are many other common reasons that can be atrributed to chest pain at night. Angina is chest pain  related to an imbalance between your oxygen demand of the heart and also the amount of oxygen delivered via the blood. It is caused by blockage or narrowing from the blood vessels that supply blood towards the heart. Angina is different from a cardiac arrest in that the arteries are not completely blocked, and it causes little if any permanent damage to the heart. “Stable” angina occurs repetitively and predictably while exercising and goes away with rest. “Unstable” angina results in unusual and unpredictable pain not relieved totally by rest, or pain that really occurs at rest.

Symptoms of chest pain at night caused by angina are  shortness of breath, irregular heartbeats, chest congestion and frequent palpitations. Sometimes, there is a rise in blood pressure levels and frequent coughing. Chest discomfort or angina is recognized as as the primary symptom. It’s pain felt on the chest’s left side that could radiate to the shoulders, neck, and jaws. This sort of pain had 2 classifications: Stable Angina & Unstable Angina.

Costochondritis is really an inflammation of the cartilage between your ribs. Pain is typically found in the mid-chest, with intermittently dull and sharp pain which may be increased with deep breaths, movement, and deep touch.
